Corporate Responsibility at HPP
At HPP, sustainability is based on our values and corporate responsibility principles. As a law firm, we are committed to the Finnish Bar Association’s Code of Conduct, which is central to our work. We help clients navigate change, manage special situations, and solve legal issues, guided by our core values of trust, partnership, and equality.
HPP is a people-centred expert organization that succeeds together with its clients. Equal treatment and mutual respect are essential in our internal culture and in our relationships with stakeholders. We value diversity and see different backgrounds, personalities, and strengths as an asset.
Our responsible business principles are based on our values, good legal practice, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals under Agenda 2030. These principles are structured around the three ESG dimensions: environmental, social, and governance.
Environmental Responsibility
HPP is committed to using clean and renewable energy and to improving energy efficiency in its operations. We reduce consumption through modern technology, optimize IT and building systems, and make responsible procurement choices that take sustainability, environmental protection, and ethical production into account.
We also promote resource efficiency by recycling waste and equipment, reducing paper use, and enabling remote work and meetings. Through our legal expertise, we support climate action more broadly by contributing to renewable energy projects, sustainable development initiatives, and legislative work. Our experts participate in industry working groups and support organizations such as the Finnish Wind Power Association.
Social Responsibility
We see diversity as a strength. Our internal guidelines and personnel policies help ensure fair and lawful practices, while employee well-being is supported through occupational healthcare, insurance, ergonomics, and opportunities for physical activity.
We do not accept discrimination in any form and are committed to equal and dignified treatment for all.
Continuous learning is an important part of our culture. Through HPP Academy, trainee programs, and mentoring, we help employees, students, and young professionals develop their skills and careers. We also expect our partners and subcontractors to follow the same principles of equality and fairness.
Governance and Ethics
Good governance is essential to HPP as a law firm. We are committed to ethical, transparent, and fair conduct in all our operations.
Through our work, we promote democracy, the rule of law, transparency, and anti-corruption. We also provide legal training to stakeholders and refrain from assignments if there are concerns about a client’s responsibility or conduct.
