HPP advised CGI Suomi Oy on its acquisition of a cloud, capacity and end user IT support services business from Telia Finland Oyj and Telia Cygate Oy. The acquired business comprises Telia Cygate’s private, public and hybrid cloud solutions, data center capacity solutions and hybrid infrastructure management business, and Telia Finland’s end user IT support services business.
The transaction includes the transfer of the assets, approximately 250 employees, contracts and business records of the transferring business, as well as transitional services and a separation plan covering the separation of the transferring business from Telia’s operations, but excludes Telia’s Helsinki Datacenter.
Simultaneously with the acquisition, the parties are launching a strategic partnership under which CGI will provide scalable and secure cloud-based IT services to Telia, and Telia will support CGI’s growth through secure data centre infrastructure and network services. The transaction is subject to authority approvals.
