Daniel Villarreal is a member of HPP’s transaction team specialising in M&A transactions, equity financing of companies, and funds including both fund and investor advisory. As part of his client work, Daniel also assists clients broadly in corporate law and commercial matters related to the transactions in which he acts as an adviser.

Daniel has over 15 years of experience as both a lawyer and an in-house counsel, including at one of Finland’s largest institutional investors, where he was responsible for the legal aspects of investments in unlisted asset classes. As a result, Daniel has a strong focus on investor advisory, particularly in relation to fund investments, and he assists clients with investments in various domestic and international funds. He has assisted clients in connection with commitments to several of the world’s largest funds with capital of up to tens of billions of euros, and he has an exceptionally strong understanding of investors’ needs in fund investments.

Daniel also has extensive experience in M&A transactions, having worked on transactions of all sizes, assisting industrial players and sponsors alike in transaction processes, acting for both domestic and international clients. He has strong experience across the full spectrum of transaction processes, covering financing rounds, convertible bond arrangements, joint ventures, as well as traditional acquisitions and divestments. Prior to HPP, Daniel also worked for several years at another leading Finnish law firm.
